Given that chronic lower back pain affects an estimated 70% of people (some estimates are even as high as 80%) in industrialized nations, it’s surprising that the origins of this pain are often unknown. Though many risk factors for lower back pain have been identified, such as age, weight, depression, and occupational posture, the causes of low back pain remain uncertain.

A recent study published by JAMA Network Open indicates that chiropractic care can alleviate back pain, reporting those receiving chiropractic care reported less pain, increased mobility, and a reduction in their need to take pain medication.
