The doctor

Dr. Christopher Burnham, D.C.

Experience is useful. A bias toward the animal — and the person on its back — is what this practice is actually built on.

Dr. Christopher Burnham with a horse outside the barn, in his chiropractic polo

Dr. Burnham grew up moving with a military family and lived outdoors. Work as an ocean-rescue lifeguard left injuries that only chiropractic resolved. That sent him to the University of North Florida, then Palmer College of Chiropractic. He has practiced independently and with other offices since 2005, and added Certification from the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association so the horses were not an afterthought.

Ocala is the base because that is where the horses live year-round. South Florida — Wellington, Palm Beach County, Delray Beach, and the seasonal circuit — is covered because that is where a large part of the season, and a large part of the clientele, sits. Monthly stops cover Volusia County, Tampa, Cocoa Beach, Fellsmere, and Martin County. The work travels.

Always the next tool, never a gimmick: adjustment first, then laser, rehab, shockwave, and gait video when they change the decision.

A native Floridian. Glad to work in both Ocala and South Florida.
